To create these new experiences we need to think about the design of both digital devices and infrastructures differently. We need step back from standalone tools and think about what service those tools deliver, then construct new avatars [Kuniavsky’s term for objects that are closely tied to services] that fit better into people’s everyday experiences. We also need to step back from our infrastructural products and think about what services they enable.
